FIR against cop duo for nexus with car lifter, doctors check 'sick' Rumi

GUWAHATI, April 20: Police today seized the UCO bank locker of notorious car lifter Anil Chauhan.

Chauhan was taken to the Rajgarh branch of the bank where his accounts and locker were searched.

Earlier police had seized seventeen bank accounts operated by Chauhan. During the search today, police found orments, fixed deposit receipts and property papers in the locker. Two days back, Chauhan’s locker at SBI’s Sixth Mile branch was also seized.

Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged at Dispur police station alleging that a DSP and an SI are hand-in-glove with the car lifter. The FIR was lodged by one Prabjit Doley.

Doley med DSP Moni Saikia and SI Mosco Saikia in his FIR. According to the FIR, the police officials helped the car lifter in his crimil designs.

Though police said there is no prima facie evidence to support the allegations, investigation will be conducted.

Dispur police has registered a case 723/15 under IPC sections 212/ 222.

In another development, MLA Rumi th, who is in judicial custody, was today brought to GMCH where doctors conducted various medical tests. The Borkhola MLA has been complaining of sickness.
