Assam BJP launches Maha Sampark Abhiyan

Guwahati, May 14: Assam BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharjee today launched the party’s mass contact programme, christened as ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyan’, in the State.

As part of the programme, the State BJP chief visited the residence of Guwahati MP and veteran BJP leader Bijoya Chakraborty. Party’s Assam observer Mahendra Singh was also present at the programme.

Bhattacharjee and his team also visited the residences of veteran party leaders JK Baruah and Mohitosh Roy and renewed their memberships.

The programmes intends to establish persol contacts with old and new BJP leaders, to strengthen the cadre base and rejuvete the outfit for the 2016 assembly elections.

“The BJP will emerge in a new avatar in the 2016 assembly elections. There will soon be a time when the people will recognize no other party but the BJP,” Bhattacharjee said.

The BJP State unit has asked all its senior members in the districts and blocks to visit the residences of the newly enrolled members and spread the party’s ideology. The new members will also be told about the rendra Modi government’s initiatives and programmes.

As part of the programme, the senior leaders will meet its new members to collect their complete details. Besides, persol contacts will be established with old and veteran BJP loyalists to strengthen the party’s base. The drive would continue for three months, but may be extended depending on the progress.

The newly-registered BJP members will be persolly contacted by the party cadres as part of their ongoing membership drive.

Party leaders would visit villages and persolly meet those who have registered online and make them aware about the ideology, philosophy and various welfare schemes being under taken by the party,

After the completion of the door-to-door visit in July, training camps would be held in August, September and October.

Some 25 lakh people in Assam have been enrolled as BJP members in the last few months.

The BJP’s tionwide ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyan’ was launched by Prime Minister rendra Modi on May 1.

The ambitious programme aims at projecting Modi in every household of the country.

“The basic motive of the programme was to “connect scientifically” with the over 25 lakh members that the State BJP has as of now, and at the same time, with every household in the country,” a State BJP leader said.

“Our aim is to establish a cadre-based mass party. We aim to increase our base and make our presence felt in every nook and corner of the country,” he said.

Every new member will have to fill up a new pro forma containing the family background, their profession and the educatiol qualifications.

“We also intend to tell every household in the country the last one year’s performance of the Modi government. The policies and initiatives taken by the government would be explained in detail to the people,” he added.

The party has prepared folders on the achievements of the Modi government and these will be used for this programme. The folders besides being in Hindi will also be available in the regiol languages.
