Assam government seeks ban on Popular Front of India (PFI)

New Delhi: The Assam government has sought for ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) for its involvement in the recent violence during protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in the State. The development took place after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has written to the Union Home Ministry seeking ban on the organization. Sources in the Home Ministry told this correspondent that the government is looking into the matter seriously.
