Guwahati, June 29: The 7th pay commission constituted by Assam government has concluded a series of deliberations with various stakeholders and is currently compiling its report,
The commission, headed by former Chief Secretary PP Verma, was given 18 months time to give its recommendations, which ends in August.
However, sources said the term of the commission may be extended by the government.
The commission has so far sought memorandums from various employees' unions. It has also held discussions with representatives of the unions and different government departments.
"We had told the commission about our demands. We hope the employees get a pay hike at par with the Central government. In turn, we will appeal to the employees to work harder," Sodou Asom Karmachari Parishad secretary general Basab Chandra Kalita said.
