BJP hits Dutta where it hurts

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 7: The State BJP today hit Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta where it hurts. The Saffron party reminded Dutta of the numerous scams that took place during the long Congress rule in the country.

Dutta went hammer and tongs on Prime Minister rendra Modi recently saying that the latter adopted the policy of robbing Peter to pay Paul. "Modi is squeezing the commoners so as to benefit the corporate sector. By hiking service tax from 12.36 per cent to 14 per cent, he is squeezing the exchequers of common people and give that benefit to the Corporate sector by reducing corporate tax from 30 per cent to 25 per cent. This slash in corporate tax leads to the exemption of Rs 55,000 crore tax for the Corporate sector, and in the process Modi has become richer by Rs 15,000 crore as that amount from the Rs 55,000 crore has gone to his pocket."

In a statement issued to the press today, a BJP spokesperson said: "The corrupt Congress has no right to criticize Prime Minister rendra Modi. During the regime of Manmohan Singh the tion witnessed the largest-ever scam - Rs 1.86-lakh crore coalgate. The Rs 1.76-lakh crore 2G scam, Rs 10,000-crore CWG scam and Rs 300-crore space scams still stink like sewers. Who doesn't know in Assam that APCC president Anjan Dutta is an accused in the multi-crore-rupee Saradha chit fund scam?"

For the benefit of people, Prime Minister rendra Modi started PM's Jon-Dhan Yuja, Swachh Bharat Yoja, Atal Pension Yuja etc., but the Congress pretends not to see them, the BJP spokesperson said.
