Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) to declare results of HSLC/AHM by mid-June

GUWAHATI: The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) will be able to declare the results of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examinations 2020 by the second week of June in case the ongoing lockdown is not extended indefinitely.

SEBA chairman Ramesh Chandra Jain told The Sentinel on Thursday that while evaluation of 80 per cent answer scripts has been completed, that of the remaining ones is expected to be completed after lifting of the lockdown. He added that if the lockdown is not extended indefinitely, SEBA will be able to declare the results by the second week of June.

On other hand, Jain also stated that the unit tests supposed to be conducted for students currently studying in Class-X have been cancelled. He, however, added that the Board will conduct online assignments tests on Mathematics and Science carrying 25 marks for these students. The online assignment test will be considered as unit test, he pointed out.

Jain further said that the SEBA has started online classes on General Mathematics and General Science for its registered students in Class-X. He added that while the online classes in Mathematics is being taught in Assamese, English and Bodo languages, the similar course in Science is being offered for students in the Assamese language.

The Chairman also said that since the SEBA’s academic calendar commenced from January this year, the online initiative would bridge the gap caused by the ongoing lockdown.
