BSNL ties up with Bangladeshi firm to improve Net in NE

New Delhi, June 12: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has inked an agreement with Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Ltd (BSCCL) to improve internet connectivity in India's northeast region, an official statement said here on Friday. The BSNL will provide intertiol bandwidth for internet from Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh to Agartala, while the BSCCL will provide the intertiol port (IP) transit service from Cox's Bazar Cable Landing Station. The terrestrial route in Bangladesh will be Cox's Bazar-Chittagong-Comilla-B.Baria-Akhaura for primary link and Cox's Bazar-Chitagong-Comilla-Dhaka-rshindi-Bhairab-Akhaura the secondary link, the statement said. The BSNL will set up intertiol long distance (ILD) gateway at Agartala along with associated equipment.
