Buddha can improve bilateral ties: Chinese guru

New Delhi, March 29: One of the most popular Chinese Buddhist gurus, Vajra Master Jinke Xuanlei, said on Sunday that the best way to improve India-Chi ties is to have Buddha as a key factor in the relationship.

The founder of Sino-Esoteric Buddhism Association was speaking at a felicitation by Tarun Vijay, a BJP MP and president of the Parliamentary Group on India Chi Friendship.

The spiritual guru said though he resides in Chi, his soul was in India.

A group of Chinese Buddhist Mandala painters led by Vajra Master is here under a Chinese government initiative to commemorate the 65th year of diplomatic relations between India and Chi.

Their artworks are on display at India Habitat Centre’s art gallery here.

Vijay said: “Their works on Ganesha, Buddha, (Mahatma) Gandhi and Prime Minister (rendra) Modi show a deep sense of understanding of the Indian psyche which is a result of age-old interaction nurtured by Buddhist scholars and travellers.” IANS
