Cabinet status for ex-CMs

GUWAHATI, Feb 23: The Tarun Gogoi cabinet’s meeting held on Feb 20 cleared the State government’s move to accord cabinet status to ex-chief ministers of the State. As per the cabinet decision, ex-chief ministers will henceforth be entitled to cabinet status in the State along with facilities such as fully furnished bungalow, one private secretary, one assistant, one driver, two peons and four PSOs. At present, there are three ex-chief ministers, mely Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, Bhumidhar Barman and Anwara Taimur.
