CEE for ayurvedic, homeopathy, engineering courses on schedule

Guwahati, May 2: The Assam government today said the common entrance exam (CEE) for admission into ayurvedic, homeopathy and engineering courses offered in State colleges will be held as per schedule on May 14 and 15.

Director of Medical Education Anup Kumar Barman said the Supreme Court ruling for holding NEET is only for MBBS and BDS seats. “We have suspended the process to issue admit cards for the CEE to MBBS and BDS courses in the State. However, the CEE for the other courses – ayurvedic, homeopathy and engineering – will be held as per schedule,” he said.

As for candidates who could not appear for the AIPMT yesterday, they can take the test in the second phase on July 24, Barman informed.

The Assam government has filed a review petition against the SC ruling on NEET and it is likely to be heard tomorrow.
