New Delhi, April 30: The Union Home Ministry has asked the central intelligence agencies deployed in Assam and galand to be more vigilant to stop any possible skirmishes along the border between these two states.

A senior official in the ministry told this correspondent that the Centre is well aware of the developments taking place along the Assam-galand border.

“Yes, we know what is happening,” said the official.

In fact, Union Home Ministry has also told a BJP delegation from Assam that all possible steps would be taken to maintain peace in the area.

A three-member delegation of BJP MPs from Assam submitted a letter to Home Minister Rajth Singh and demanded central intervention.  The members include Ram Prasad Sharma, Rameswar Teli and Kamakhya Prasad Tasa.

Talking to this correspondent, BJP MP RP Sarma accused the Assam government of doing nothing for the protection of life and property of the people of Assam.

“On many occasions, the State government gets adequate information, but they were not able to do anything,” said Sarma.
