Changlang blast: Three succumb

Guwahati, February 8: Three persons, including a jawan, injured in the ambush in Aruchal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Friday, have succumbed. The deceased included rifleman Datatre Mahajan. Two porters, who had accompanied the Assam Rifles foot patrol when the blast took place, also died. No outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Meanwhile, troops of Red Horns Division recovered huge quantity of war like stores in Mah Reserve Forest of Chirang district in lower Assam today. The operation was carried out on specific intelligence provided by Gajraj Corps Military Intelligence unit. The recoveries include an Improvised Explosive Device weighing approximately 6 kg, a lot of incrimiting documents with details of extortion’s being carried out by NDFB(S) and details of important over ground workers and linkmen working at the behest of the outlawed terrorist organization.
