Chinese soldiers surprise by performing Hindi songs

Guwahati, Jan 2: The ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) between India and Chi on the occasion of New Year 2016 threw up a novelty which created bonhomie all round. Held at the Chinese hut at Damai of Zayu garrison in Chengdu province of Chi, the Chinese side was led by Senior Colonel Hu Xiao Bao and the Indian side by Brigadier SS Bhogal.

After paying respect to the tiol flags and playing of tiol anthems, the Chinese soldiers surprised and enthralled the audience by their performance of Bollywood Hindi songs “Jai Ho” and “Ankhe Khuli Ho Ya Ho Bandh”.  The Chinese women soldiers performed a scintillating dance on the rendition of the group songs by Chinese men, a defence spokesman said.

“The meeting and performance of the cultural programme by both the delegates showcased the ever growing bonhomie and brotherhood amongst the armies of both the tions.  It also fostered the feelings of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintence of peace along the LAC,” the spokesman said.
