Citing CAG report, BJP slams Gogoi

GUWAHATI, May 16: State BJP on Saturday blamed the Tarun Gogoi–led government for the present fincial crisis in Assam.

In a statement issued to media here, Assam BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharjee said, "There are economic disciplines and fund release structure in place in the country and the Assam government has failed to follow it in the last 14 years. The State government has failed to properly submit utilization certificates against the use of Central funds so far."

Bhattacharjee further said, “Even earlier reports of CAG pointed at the fincial mismagement in the State,” adding, “For the present situation, Chief Minister Gogoi must take the responsibility and only blaming Centre will not serve any purpose.”
