CM asks DCs, SPs to tackle crime on women, children

Guwahati, March 28: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal today chaired a meeting on law and order with all DCs and SPs through video conferencing at his conference hall and directed all SPs to ensure swift and correct filing of chargesheets in all crimes against women and children so that justice could be given to the victims.

He also directed the DCs and SPs to conduct intensive awareness campaigns with active participation of students, teachers, NGOs, village heads, village defence forces, panchayat members, ASHA workers and anganwadi workers so that heinous crimes against women and children could be checked.  The Chief Minister also directed the SPs to persolly monitor all such cases. The Chief Minister also directed the SPs to act strongly against drug trafficking and illegal syndicates.
