CM to visit Kokrajhar today

Ministerial meet at Dispur stresses on intensifying operations

GUWAHATI, Aug 6: A crucial meeting of the council of ministers with Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal was held on Saturday evening to discuss threadbare and review the security situation in the State, especially in BTAD region.

The meeting stressed upon intensifying operations against insurgent groups by security forces in violence-hit Kokrajhar district.

Chief Minister Sonowal said his government will come down heavily on terrorists and insurgent outfits out to create law and order problem in the State.

With a view to bolstering security in trouble-torn Kokrajhar, four companies of para-military forces have been deployed.

Sonowal, who will visit Kokrajhar on Sunday to take stock of the law and order situation in view of the carge, will hold a high level meeting with senior officials of Assam Police, Army and para-military forces at Kokrajhar Circuit House.
