Committee to look into exorbitant private school fees

Guwahati, June 25: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today instructed the Education department to form a committee to look into the issue of exorbitant admission fees charged by private schools in the State. The committee will be empowered to take pel action against such schools. At the governing body meeting of the Rashtriya Madhyamic Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Gogoi was informed by the Education minister Sarat Barkataky that B. Ed curriculum will be introduced in all the 59 provincialized colleges in the State. Gogoi also asked the department to check the drop-out rate and initiate a scheme to improve infrastructure like drinking water, toilets, desk-benches in the educatiol institutions.
