Congress hits back, says Modi charisma fading

PM reming old schemes, launching them and taking undue credit: Joshi

Guwahati, March 27: Alleging that the BJP has failed to keep its promises made to the people in the last Lok Sabha elections, the Congress today said Prime Minister rendra Modi is reming schemes launched by the earlier UPA government and taking undue credit.

Senior Congress leader CP Joshi said Modi, during the Lok Sabha election campaign, had sought 60 months time while lining up a slew of promises.

"What has he done in the last 18 months? He has failed to deport Bangladeshi infiltrators, did not accord ST status to six ethnic communities and also did not provide jobs to youths," he said.

Claiming that the "so–called Modi charisma" is fading, Joshi asked the people to judge from TV footages, if Rahul Gandhi’s padayatra was more successful or Modi’s rallies during the last two days.

Joshi said Modi did not have any origil ideas. "He is just reming old schemes and launching them and taking undue credit," he said.

Taking a jibe at Modi for criticizing Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Joshi said, "The Chief Minister is a veteran politician. The way Modi is criticizing the Chief Minister is unbecoming of a Prime Minister. He is not a BJP campaigner… He is the Prime Minister of the country."

Alleging that Modi is suffering from depression, Joshi said that the BJP has conceded defeat even before the elections "or else why would they go for alliances with other parties?"
