Consent for Middle Siang hydel project not given: Gogoi

Guwahati, June 13: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today reiterated that the State Government has not given consent for construction of the Middle Siang hydel project. In a statement here today, Gogoi said that in spite of the denial by the State Government, Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti continued to repeat that the Centre got State Government's consent for the hydel project. "Her repeated assertion of receiving State Government's consent for the project is nothing but an attempt to hoodwink the people which is an inherent character of the NDA Government," said Chief Minister Gogoi.
