Cops face departmental action

Guwahati, April 8: On the directions of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the OCs of Azara and Morigaon police station were placed under suspension following repeated cases of ATM thefts in their areas. The Doomdooma OC was also transferred. The OC of Noonmati police station, Himangshu Das, was closed to reserve, after the Police Accountability Commission observed that he is responsible for custodial death of a crimil in lock-up on January 27.
