Guwahati, May 17: As election officials prepare for counting of votes for the assembly elections on Thursday, Additiol CEO Nitin Kumar Khade today said the results are expected to come by around 2 pm on the day. "And by 5 pm, we hope to complete all the formalities," he said. The 126 central observers appointed by the ECI to oversee the counting have reached the State. The Election Commission today issued fresh instructions to the personnel who will man the three-tier security at the 51 counting centers. There are 1,064 candidates contesting in 126 constituencies. Counting staff comprising 5,313 officials will be deployed in the 51 counting centers. At each of the 1771 counting tables, one micro-observer will be deployed.
