Court seeks Rumi's case diary, medical report

Guwahati, April 22: A sessions court today sought MLA Rumi th's case diary and medical report. The order was issued after the arrested MLA's counsel moved a bail petition. The court asked the police and jail authorities to submit her case diary and medical report on April 27. Meanwhile, Jail minister Girindra Mallick has issued a show-cause notice to the authorities of Guwahati Central Jail seeking an explation as to how th's medical report was leaked to the media.

The jailed legislator was brought to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital on Monday where doctors conducted several tests. She was complaining of sickness.

According to the medical reports that were leaked to the media, th is nine weeks’ pregnt.

The legislator from Barkhola was arrested on April 14 on charges of having links with auto theft kingpin Anil Chouhan. She is in judicial custody now. She faces charges of crimil conspiracy, harbouring a crimil and fraud. She had allegedly recommended assembly passes for Chouhan’s vehicle.
