DC to receive dotions for Kamakhya

GUWAHATI, Oct 16: The Gauhati High Court on Friday recommended the State government to frame proper legislation to regulate the secular activities of Kamakhya Temple. The division bench of Chief Justice K Sreedhar Rao and Justice PK Saikia made the recommendation hearing a PIL, alleging that cleanliness and hygiene in and around the temple premises is not being properly maintained. The High Court also directed the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro) to receive dotions from the devotees and public. It also directed the DC to take control of the account where funds towards development of the temple are credited and execute the same properly under his strict supervision.
