Debabrata Saikia will be Opposition leader

Guwahati, May 30: Two-time Congress MLA from zira Debabrata Saikia will be the Opposition leader in the 14th Assam assembly. The Congress high command picked him after the State legislature party failed to come up with a consensus candidate. "The Opposition has a significant role to play in the assembly. I will try my best to fulfill the responsibility given to me," Saikia, son of former CM late Hiteswar Saikia, said.
