Dehing River’s pollution

MARGHERITA, February 2: Green Assam, a Margherita–based NGO, has expressed its serious concern over the Dehing River’s pollution and soil erosion caused by the river in the area. Green Assam president Dharmeswar Chetia told this correspondent that a growing nexus between sand mafia and Forest Department officials in the area was another cause of concern. He appealed to the Margherita residents to keep the river clean.
