Dissidence in APCC wide open

'We have lost faith in Anjan Dutta's leadership'

GUWAHATI, June 30: Taking the dissidence within the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee to another level, three leaders of the party who were served show cause notices for speaking out publicly against APCC president Anjan Dutta, have sent their written replies directly to Congress president Sonia Gandhi instead of the APCC.

Following senior Congress leaders Hiranya Bora and Diganta Kalita’s resigtion from the party, three other senior Congressmen Bolin Kuli, Adil Shah and Zehirul Hussain (Ra) Khan wrote in their replies sent to Sonia Gandhi that they have full faith in her and Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, but not in Anjan Dutta.

“We have lost complete faith in Dutta’s leadership. We do not think he will evaluate any response from us in a fair manner,” stated the letter sent to the Congress high command.

Meanwhile, talking to media persons at Rajib Bhawan, APCC president Anjan Dutta said that dissidence and anti-party activities will not be tolerated. Adding that the top leadership in New Delhi has already been intimated about the ongoing situation, he said the high command will take the fil call.

It can be mentioned that, on Monday, soon after sending his resigtion, senior Congress leader Hiranya Bora addressed a press meet and questioned Anjan Dutta’s leadership capabilities. He also alleged that crimil syndicates are taking over the party.
