DRDO sps up Assam techie's project

Innovation award to Delhi IIT whiz Sasanka Sekhar Sinha

GUWAHATI, Dec 2: A robotics project of an IIT Delhi M. Tech student from Assam Sasanka Sekhar Sinha has been implemented by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

The project is a virtual platform for training in driving in the terrains of Kashmir Valley. It is a simulator-type platform that provides inbuilt conditions - like turns, elevation etc.

Sasanka is a B. Tech graduate from IIT Guwahati.

The project was done as part of a partial fulfillment of M. Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

Sasanka Sekhar Sinha, son of Sashi Kumar Sinha and Subrata Sinha of Shibergol in Karimganj has received the Padmashree Man Mohan Suri Project Award for the best innovative hardware-oriented major project in Mechanical Engineering submitted in 2014-15 during the 46th convocation of IIT Delhi held recently. Sasanka completed M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Delhi ranking second with CGPA score of 9.87 out of 10 this year.

He has already got several offers from Cada and USA for pursuing Ph. D. studies.
