Guwahati, May 18: The district administrations across the State have promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC prohibiting assembly of five or more persons at any public place with the intention to carry out procession, shouting slogans which may incite commul violence at any place, use of loud speakers and bursting of fire crackers in any form on May 19 and 20. There is a likelihood that organizing of "victory processions" and "bursting of fire crackers" might create tension among groups loyal or affiliated to different political parties which may cause breach of public peace and tranquility, and disturb normal life, official sources said.  The administrations have also declared dry days on May 19 and 20 "in the interest of maintence of public law and order".
