Eight killed in Chayygaon accident

GUWAHATI, May 13: Eight persons, including seven of the same family, died in a tragic mishap at Bamunigaon in Chayygaon last night. The driver of a pick-up van which collided head-on with a Nissan Sunny also died on the spot. All the occupants in the vehicle – Mabendra th (30), Molisha Kamala th, Reshav th (5), Gurmeet Singh (70), Lakhibayan Kamala (55), Solisha (21) and Dolisha (17) – succumbed to their injuries. The deceased pick-up van driver has been identified as Raju Ali. Kamrup DC Vinod Seshan, local MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed and police officials rushed to the spot after the incident.
