Elephant found dead

GUWAHATI, March 29: A female elephant was found dead in the rengi Cantonment area on Sunday morning. Sources said that some armymen during routine patrolling, had found the elephant entangled in broken electric wires, lying dead in the area. It is suspected the wires were deliberately laid by miscreants to electrocute intruding elephants. The incident was immediately reported to the Range Officer, Forest Department, rengi, for further action.
