Employee jailed for sending obscene MMS to Barpeta DC

BARPETA, Nov 5: An employee of Barpeta Deputy Commissioner's office was arrested on Wednesday for sending an objectioble MMS to Deputy Commissioner Varli Deka on WhatsApp.

Sunil th, hailing from Sarbhog in Barpeta district, allegedly sent the message by WhatsApp to DC Deka on Tuesday night, sources said.

Police sources revealed that following the incident, the DC filed a complaint through an employee her office, Topobon Das at Barpeta police station. Police subsequently arrested th on Wednesday after registering a case (no 2791/15) under section 354 (A)/ 509/500 and RW section 67 of the IPC.

Accused th was produced before the Barpeta CJM's court here and sent to 14-day judicial custody today. th, who is also the general secretary of Barpeta District Administrative Service Association, however, claimed that he had sent the MMS to Deka by mistake.
