Flying squad chased

Mariani, April 2: Officials of the flying squad had to flee today to escape the wrath of NCP supporters after they "seized" nine vehicles used by the party for a procession at Mariani town. The party claimed it had permission for ten vehicles. The flying squad had to release the vehicles immediately after, but the irate NCP workers protested the action alleging that the officials were working at the behest of the Congress. The NCP, which is fielding Alok Ghosh from the constituency against Congress' Rupjyoti Kurmi, said it would file a complaint with the election commission.
