Former minister Moidul Islam Bora no more

Guwahati, Sept 4: Former minister and one of the founders of AGP Moidul Islam Bora breathed his last a private hospital here on Friday morning. He was 61. Bora was suffering from heart-related ailments.

Bora was a minister in both his tenures as a legislator - 1985 and 1996.

Born at Baihata Chariali in the year 1954, Bora was first a member of the Golap Bora-led Jata Dal before he founded the AGP with the Assam Agitation leaders.

His body was taken to his birthplace as per his wish. The mortal remains will be taken to the AGP headquarters tomorrow before the last rites are performed.

Bora's wife Seema Parbin, also an AGP leader, had died two months back.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Union minister Sarbanda Sonowal, former CM PK Mahanta, AGP president Atul Bora, BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharjee and all members of the AGP and its wings have condoled his demise.
