Former MLA Enamul Haque Lashkar Arrested by CID in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The CID arrested former MLA Enamul Haque Lashkar from Guwahati on Monday in connection with the suicide of a UDA of the Irrigation Department in 2012. former MLA Enamul Haque Lashkar will be produced before the Tezpur CJM Court on Tuesday.

Irrigation department UDA Mathur Chandra Nath committed suicide on November 26, 2012, purportedly following an allegation of anomalies. The former MLA, an OSD of the Irrigation Department at that time, had his name embroiled in the suicide case (1651/2012) that was filed in Tezpur police station. The case was later handed over to the CID.
