Gadi dismisses opposition's claims with documentary evidences

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

ITAGAR, Dec 23: Taking a dig at opposition BJP and dissident MLAs for telling the people blatant lies that Chief Minister bam Tuki-led Aruchal Pradesh government did nothing tangible, PWD Minister Gojen Gadi today tried to prove the achievements with documentary evidences.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, Gadi said that the progress of mini secretariat buildings (MSBs) and cement concrete roads (CCRs) are highly satisfactory with the PWD making all possible efforts.

The per cent-wise progress of MSB included msai (Phase-1) (95%), Changlang (65%), Sagalee (50%) & Khonsa (30%), the tendering process for Daporijo & Ziro MSB is on while for Roing & Tezu the fincial bids opened are under scrutiny, Gadi disclosed.

The per cent-wise completion of CCRs included Capital Complex (80%), Ziro (30%), Aalo (phase-I) (80%), Yingkiong (phase-I) (80%), Pasighat (phase-I) & Roing (40% each), Longding, Khonsa & Changlang (35% each) and work at Tezu awarded a month back.

While the MSBs are built under special plan assistance allocated in 2013-14 & 2014-15, all CCRs are State flagship programmes, he said, adding that work has been taken up in district and ADC HQs to improve road connectivity on need-basis for which the State government had allocated Rs 30 crore in the last Budget.

Asked to qualify reasons behind delay, Gadi attributed it to legal litigation citing the example of Bomdila. Stressing on the cooperation of the people, Gadi said that the reconstruction of 218.5-mtr span steel Suspension Bridge over River Siang at Nubo funded by DoNER has been complete and would be iugurated soon.

When asked about the dilapidated condition of the Capital Complex road, Gadi admitted of receiving numerous complaints. But he reasoned that the Centre wanted but failed to float the tender and entrusted the responsibility to PWD CE. But non-availability of hot mixture plant with the contractor delayed the process.

The plant is expected to arrive here tonight and made functiol within few days to begin full-fledged work. However, the DPR for developing the four-lane with CCRs would be submitted to Union MoRTH within December to expedite the process, he disclosed.

The PWD has a target to accomplish all the MSBs and CCRs by March 31 next, he said.  Recalling that the Union MoS (Fince) Jayant Sinha on November 2 last after reviewing State fincial position here had certified the State government’s fiscal magement as excellent, the allegations of fincial mismagement by various quarters hold no ground, Gadi argued.
