gaon takes pride in its toppers

GAON (HAIBORGAON), June 2: Rupsikha Kalita and Ankur Jyoti Bora of gaon Ramanujan Junior College brought laurels to gaon district by securing top ranks in the HS fil examition conducted by AHSEC.

Rupsikha Kalita secured the first rank in Arts stream while Ankur Jyoti Bora topped in the Science stream. Two other students from the educatiol institution also secured ranks among the top 10 in Arts stream.

In Arts stream, Rupsikha secured total 486 marks while in Science stream, Ankur Jyoti obtained total 488 marks out of 500. In an interaction with mediapersons after declaration of results, Ankur Jyoti said that he would like to pursue engineering. He said that he studied 9 to 10 hours every day and gave credit for his success to his parents, teachers and the Principal of Ramanujan Junior College who even exempted his admission fees and other college dues for the last two years as his family’s finces are not sound.

Ankur Jyoti lost his father when he was in Class VI. He is the son of late Raseswar Bora and Anu Bora of Rahachaki area of gaon district.

On the other hand, Rupsikha Kalita, who is also from a poor family of a remote village, said that she would study History. She attributed her success to her teachers and family and said that she used to study for 10-11 hours every day. Rupshikha is the daughter of Bipul Kalita and Solee Kalita.

Besides Ankur Jyoti and Rupsikha, two other successful students who were also able to secure ranks among the top 10 from the same institution are Neelofar Hussain (479) and Rajashree Boruah (474) who secured 5th and 6th position respectively in Arts stream. On the other hand, Preeti Bora (471) of Durcharya Junior College, gaon in Arts stream as well as Sheikh Md. Shakeel (482) in Science stream from Concept Junior College, gaon also secured 8th and 5th ranks respectively.
