Get absorbed in party works, Singh tells ticket seekers

GUWAHATI, July 8: "No matter if you get party tickets for the 2016 Assembly elections in the State or not, you will have to get yourselves absorbed in party works so as to let the party make it to Dispur in 2016," BJP's Assam observer Dr. Mahendra told all BJP ticket aspirants who have already applied for tickets.

Speaking at the zol meeting of the party at Silpgram in the city today, Dr. Singh said: "We have to make it to Dispur by any means. And to make that happens, each and every worker has to work for the party hard to woo the common mass. Public relations are a must for the  party, and it has to be maintained at the man-to-man level. Present party workers should enroll more workers, and this is part of the party's preparations for 2016 Assembly elections in the State."

Today's meeting was of Guwahati zone that has as many as eight party districts - Udalguri, Darrang, North Kamrup, South Kamrup, lbari, Bajali, Goalpara and Guwahati. All presidents and other office-bearers of the district committees of the party, all mancha presidents and other office-bearers in the eight party districts, elected chairmen and vice-chairmen of civic bodies elected from the party and all masamparka prabondhoks of the eight party districts under Guwahati zone of the party were present at today's meeting. "If we're to topple the Congress in 2016 in Assam, we need to be very strong organizatiolly and set man-to-man ties with the people. By July 21, we have to complete the mahasamparka abhiyan (grand public relation drive) that will let us identify active members of the party. The dates of organizatiol polls in the party will be announced once the list of active members of the party is out," Dr. Singh said.

State BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharyya, Phanindra rth Sarma, Bioya Chakraborty and others were present at today's meeting.
