Guwahati, May 22: House no 55, Bye-lane I, Ajanta Path, Beltola Survey – this will be the new address of three-time Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

Gogoi, who submitted his resigtion as CM after the Congress’ debacle in the assembly election, is likely to vacate his official residence at Koidhara hill in a day or two.

He spent nearly two hours at his Ajanta Path residence today, overseeing the arrangements to move in.

The Titabor MLA will also be allotted a quarter at the MLA Hostel. Sources said in all likelihood, Gogoi will be allotted the quarter which was being used by former minister Ajit Singh.

Meanwhile, the official residence of Chief Minister-desigte Sarbanda Sonowal has not yet been decided.

Sonowal said he would go for a place which can be easily accessed by the people.

“The MLAs should also be able to access it easily. The interests of the people will be kept in mind before deciding anything,” he said.

When asked if he too would use a 19-vehicle convoy like Gogoi, Sonowal said, “We will not do anything that would cause inconvenience to the people.”

Meanwhile, Speaker Prab Kumar Gogoi today vacated his official quarter at the MLA Hostel.

Sources said most of the former MLAs barring one or two have vacated their MLA Hostel quarters which have been allotted to the newly elected legislators.

The assembly secretariat is also being refurbished to welcome the new legislators.

Sources said the MLAs would take oath during a three-day session to be convened by the Governor in the first week of June. The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker will also be conducted during the brief session.
