Gogoi reviews security

Guwahati, June 12: Immediately after returning from New Delhi, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today reviewed the State's security scerio and the level of preparedness of security forces. Sources privy to the meeting, which was attended by the DGP and representatives of other security agencies, said there was a threat perception in the State, with the newly formed United tiol Liberation Front of West South East Asia (UNLFW) “under pressure” to make its presence felt.

“Ulfa, an associate of the joint front, may attack soft targets in Upper Assam, Goalpara and even Guwahati. Intelligence inputs also suggest the militants may kidp important people,” the sources said

The State has already been put under maximum alert.
