Gogoi scoffs at BJP's Vision Document

By Our Staff Reporter

Guwahati, March 25: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today questioned the logic behind the BJP releasing a Vision Document instead of a poll manifesto, and said it indicates that the saffron party does not have any promises to make to the people.

"A Vision Document is a long-term plan, while a manifesto underlines what the party intends to do in the next five years. The BJP has released a vision document instead of a manifesto…It shows they don't have any promises to make to the people. They refrained from making any commitment," he said in an immediate reaction after Fince minister Arun Jaitley released the State BJP unit's Vision Document.

"It also indicates that the BJP will do a U-turn as it did after the Lok Sabha elections," the CM said. Meanwhile, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi will campaign in the State next week.

Rahul Gandhi will address rallies in Karbi Anglong and other Upper Assam districts on March 29, while Sonia Gandhi will also tour the State the next day.

The Congress leadership will also campaign for the second phase of polls at a later date.
