Government seeks report from NFR

GUWAHATI, February 16: The Assam government on Monday sought detailed report from the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) within Tuesday on the reported discrimition of local youths in the recruitment of personnel in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). On this issue, the AASU and few other organisations alleged that the Railway authorities are conspiring against recruitment of youths from the State in particular and the northeastern region in general in the RPF. Seeking the detailed report on the issue, the State Home and Political Department Secretary wrote a letter to the NFR general mager.  The AASU on Sunday informed that a total of 20,203 applications were submitted by job aspirants for the posts as advertised by the RPF. Of these 659 posts, 68 posts are for the RPF, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).
