Governor appeals to join Yoga day programmes

GUWAHATI, June 18: Assam Governor P. B. Acharya will grace the Intertiol Day of Yoga –2015 programme to be organised by North East Zol Cultural Centre (NEZCC) at Shilpagram in Guwahati on June 21, stated press release.

The programme is being organised on a grand scale and Yoga will be conducted by four groups consisting of 500 to 600 yoga enthusiasts. The presence of Yoga Gurus in the programme would also make it more interesting.

The programme will begin from 7 am and each group will perform one at a time and would be allotted a duration of half an hour. A small break would be given at the end of the performance of each group. Each group would also be provided light refreshment at the end of its performance. At the programme the Governor would also present three awards from his side. The awards to be presented are ‘Patanjali Yoga Award’, ‘Aryabhatta Yoga Award’ and ‘Bhaskaracharya Yoga Award’.

From Shilpagram, the Governor will proceed to the Intertiol Day of Yoga – 2015 programme of Nehru Yuvak Kendra Sangathan. He is also likely to grace the Intertiol Day of Yoga – 2015 programme organised by Shishu Shiksha Samiti.

 The Governor has appealed to all Schools, Colleges, Universities, NGOs, Student Organisations, Trade Unions and all members of the Public to participate in good numbers and groups in the Intertiol Day of Yoga celebrations June 21. Stressing that the practice of yoga not only gives a sound body, but also a sound mind and a sharp intellect, the Governor has insisted that the universities and all educatiol institutions should organise Intertiol Day of Yoga – 2015 functions at their own campuses.
