Governor backs Assam Rifles gag on media

GUWAHATI, Nov 22: galand governor P B Acharya today backed the Assam Rifles' notification issued to newspapers in that State, prohibiting publishing of statements of banned organizations. Maintaining that banned organizations should not get publicity, Acharya, who is also governor of Assam, said that the Assam Rifles had done what is prescribed under law.
