Governor bats for power projects

NEW DELHI, Oct 6: Assam Governor PB Acharya has said that completion of power projects in Aruchal Pradesh is necessary for the betterment of Assam and other Northeastern States. Indirectly referring to the 2000 MW Lower Subansiri Hydro Power Project, Acharya said, “In the Northeast, we need power (electricity), and completion of power projects in Aruchal Pradesh are necessary for this.” Referring to the Assam gas cracker project at Lepetkata, Acharya said that it will benefit the people of the State in a large way besides ‘generating employment for the youths’.
