Governor visits art exhibition

GUWAHATI, Oct 27: Assam Governor PB Acharya visited the ongoing art exhibition of 54 drawings on Madhubani painting, which was organized for the first time in the state at state art gallery of the city, by artist Amita Das of Madhuban district of Bihar today.

The Governor said: "The works of Das are really nice, and I thank her for conducting the art exhibition first time in the state. I also suggest Das to initiate these types of exhibition more in future and open the art pieces for sale."  

Das said: "The exhibition was iugurated on October 26 by Dispur Press Club president Baikuntha Goswami, and will be continued till October 31. The drawings displayed in the exhibition were prepared in last one–and–a–half years. Madhubani prints is an ethnic art culture of Bihar which has its fame among the artists of the world. The artists paints the gods and goddesses on their walls of the houses which were later converted to paint in the papers."
