HC directions on Kamakhya

Guwahati, June 17: The Gauhati High Court today directed the Kamrup metropolitan administration to prepare an action plan for cleaning the Ganesh Kunda area of the temple, creation of adequate space and drinking water facility for visitors. Taking up a suo moto case on the lack of facilities at the revered shrine, a bench of Chief Justice (acting) K Shreedhar Rao and Justice PK Saikia asked DC M Angamuthu to submit the plan to the court on Friday. The court has also summoned functiories of the Kamakhya Debottar Board on Friday.
