HC seeks report on Manikut murder

Guwahati, April 20: The Gauhati High Court today asked the State government and Assam Police as to why the case of murder of ACS officer Manikut Pathak should not be handed over to the CBI. The court, while hearing a petition of Manikut's father Ramesh Pathak, also sought a status report of the inquiry being conducted by the State agencies into the incident. Manikut Pathak was murdered on September 11, 2014 at his Hatigaon Lakhimigar residence.
