Helpline for Cheni floods

Guwahati, Dec 4: In the wake of the recent floods in Tamil du, Dispur has opened two helpline numbers - 1070 (Toll Free) and 0361-223719 – for people of Assam who are stranded in the southern State. The State government has received information about 22 persons from Assam who are stranded there. ASDMA CEO PK Tiwari said that information can also be shared on the following numbers: 044-28593990 at Tamil du Disaster Magement Control Room and 09489615791 at NDRF Control Room. Tiwari said that today the Assam Chief Minister reviewed the flood situation in Tamil du with senior government officials here. He said that if need arises, one senior government official will visit Tamil du to take stock of the situation and to coordite with the local authorities in the State.
