High turnout of voters living across Bangla fencing

Guwahati, April 18: The recently concluded Assam assembly elections generated much enthusiasm among the voters living on the other side of the barbed fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Official sources said 983 Indian citizens living across the fencing are registered as voters in electoral rolls. They are registered in 18 polling stations spread across Karimganj and Dhubri districts. Nearly cent percent of the voters cast their votes. After the re-polling that concluded yesterday, the overall turn-out in the assembly elections was 88.15 percent - an all-time high.
