'Highest beneficiary schemes in Assam'

GUWAHATI, Feb 2: Participating in the assembly debate on the Governor’s speech on Tuesday, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi stated that Assam is moving rapidly along the path of development. “Assam has the highest number of beneficiary schemes in the country. Interestingly, all these schemes are funded entirely by the State government,” he claimed. Gogoi further said, “We resent the scrapping of special category status to the State by the Government of India. Moreover, the Northeast special industrial scheme continues to hang in uncertainty, which has hurt investment flow to the State.”
